Mayor of Uppingham, Cllr Dave Ainslie, led our Act of Remembrance at the Town's War Memorial in the churchyard.
Wreaths were laid by the Mayor on behalf of the people of Uppingham, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland, Jeannette Warner, represented the County and our serving Military were represented by 1st Regiment Military Working Dogs based at St George's barracks. Rutland's veteran community was represented by the County standards of the Royal British Legion and the Royal Air Force Association.
The wreaths were laid on the steps where the names of our WW2 Fallen are remembered.
Two men of the town fell in the Far East, John Charity lies in Singapore and James Smith in Burma.
